But here’s the thing about the plus size fashion industry in 2026: it does not get to operate without accountability anymore. The community is too informed, too powerful, and too tired of being overlooked for that.
So we brought the TCF Readers Choice Awards back. Not just because it felt like the right time, though it absolutely is. We brought it back because you deserve a platform that reflects what you actually think about the brands, creators, designers, and retailers that serve this space. And they deserve to know exactly where they stand.
Why This Moment Matters
The plus size fashion market is worth billions. The community that drives it is still fighting for basic representation, consistent sizing, and the kind of quality and style that gets offered freely to straight size shoppers without a second thought.
We have seen brands launch plus size lines with tremendous fanfare, then quietly let them die. We have seen “size inclusive” used as a marketing phrase with no real size range to back it up. We have seen collections stop at 2X and call it extended. We have watched the runway, the campaigns, and the editorial spreads, and we have noticed who shows up and who still does not.
The TCF Readers Choice Awards exist to cut through all of that. This is not a paid ranking. There are no brand sponsorships influencing who gets nominated or who wins. This is the community speaking, plain and simple. Your nominations shape the ballot. Your votes determine the winners. That is the whole point.
What We Are Asking You to Do
Nominate the brands, people, and retailers who have genuinely earned your loyalty. Think about who has dressed you well, represented you honestly, and shown up for this community with more than just words.
We have 25 categories this year, spanning everything from your favorite plus size denim brand to the plus size workwear brands finally getting professional dressing right, the occasion wear brands showing up for your big moments, the indie boutiques quietly doing incredible work, and the creators and designers who are shaping what plus size fashion looks and feels like right now.
This is also the year we added a category a lot of you have been asking for: Brand We Want to See Do Better. Because holding space for progress means acknowledging where the gaps still are.
Why Your Nomination Is an Act of Advocacy
When you nominate a brand, you are signaling to the entire industry what excellence looks like in this space. When an indie plus size designer gets nominated alongside a major retailer, that matters. When a brand known for stopping at 1X does not make the list, that matters too.
The plus size fashion industry watches what this community does. The TCF Readers Choice Awards have always been a mirror held up to the market, showing it exactly where it stands with the people it claims to serve.
Your nomination is a data point. A direction. A demand.
Here Is How to Nominate
This is the first year we have opened nominations to the community, and that is intentional. The plus size fashion landscape has shifted, the conversation has gotten louder, and the people who actually shop, follow, and show up every single day deserve a direct say in who gets their flowers. For the first time in TCF history, the ballot starts with you.
Nominations are open now through June 15th. This is the first step, and it is an important one. The brands, creators, and retailers who make it to the official ballot get there because the community put them there. If you want your favorite brand to have a shot at winning, you have to nominate them first.
Head to the nominations form, pick your categories, and tell us who deserves the recognition. You can nominate across as many categories as you want. The most nominated names move forward to the official voting round, and that is where the real competition begins.
